Features

  • Satellite Image Analysis: Scan directly based on the latest Google Maps satellite imagery without the need for on-site visits.
  • Gemini AI Detection: Leverage Google Gemini Vision models to automatically identify solar arrays in images.
  • SAM 3 Precision Segmentation: Integrated with SAM 3 technology to generate precise polygon boundaries for every detected panel.
  • Batch Scan Mode: Manually draw large areas, and the system automatically divides them into tiles for automated batch detection.
  • Geospatial Data Collection: Automatically record precise latitude and longitude coordinates for each installation and provide high-definition image downloads.

User Guide

1. Locate Target Area

Navigate the map using:

  • Manual Search: Enter an address or city name in the search box.
  • Locate Me: Quickly jump to your current location.
  • Zooming: Ensure the zoom level is appropriate to clearly see building rooftops.

2. Execute a Scan

SolarScout offers two scanning methods:

Single Scan

  • Center the map on the target building.
  • Click Scan Area, and the AI will instantly analyze all objects within the current view.

Batch Scan

  • Click Draw Scan Area.
  • Drag a rectangle on the map to define the area.
  • Click Start Scan, and the system will automatically tile and analyze the selection piece by piece.

3. View Scan Results

  • Real-Time Markers: After the scan completes, colored polygons representing detected solar panels will appear on the map.
  • Details Modal: Click a marker to view detailed information, including confidence, estimated count, latitude, and longitude.
  • HD Download: Click "Download HD Image" to save a screenshot of the identification result for that area.

4. History Management

  • All scan tasks are automatically saved to your account.
  • Return to "History" anytime to relocate to a previous scan or redownload data.

Credit Rules

  • Standard Scan: Consumes 5 credits per scan (4 for Gemini AI analysis + 1 for SAM 3 segmentation).
  • Batch Scan: Billed by the number of tiles scanned, consuming 5 credits per tile.

FAQ

Why does it say "Image Unavailable"?

This usually happens if the Google Maps satellite imagery for that area is low resolution or hasn't fully loaded. Try zooming in and scanning again.

How accurate is the AI detection?

By combining Gemini's semantic understanding with SAM 3's edge detection, SolarScout offers industry-leading accuracy. However, results can be affected by clouds, shadows, or reflections in satellite imagery; we recommend using the confidence score as a reference.

Can I use the results commercially?

Yes. You can use exported coordinates and images for pre-sales surveys, project planning, or industrial research.
